Monday saw the welcome return of choristers Ken Moyle and Bleddyn Parry. Good to see you both back in the fold as a much needed boost to the tenor section.
Preparations have now begun in earnest for the golden Jubilee Concert of the Festival of 1000 Voices to be held in the MEN Arena, Manchester on the 24th March,2012. The long preparation period reflects the lengthy
programme of music that will include many old favorites like "Myfanwy", "Cyfri'r Geifr"(Oes Gafr Eto),
"The Battle Hymn of The Republic", and the Garw's own "Calon Lan" in a new arrangement by the conductor of the 1000 Voices, Alwyn Humphries.
On a lighter note (sorry!) also included are " You'll Never Walk Alone", "Unchained Melody" and "When The Saints Go Marching In" in the 21 pieces of music planned for the Festival.
This rare opportunity to learn many of the traditional pieces of music for Welsh Male Choirs makes joining the Choir Particularly attractive. Practice is at the Pontycymer Rugby Club, Monday and Wednesday, between 6:45pm and 20:30pm
